If you live near Fremantle and would like an excuse for a beer at Little Creatures Brewery then here is a good one. Take a stroll upstairs to Australian Bush in Abstract Exhibition featuring abstract photographs taken around Lake Towerrinning. The photographs are infused into aluminuim for brilliant luminescence, vibrant colour and a contemporary look. Photographer Astrid Volzke (who lives beside the lake) has spent the last few months with her camera on one arm and her toddler on the other.
Photographer Astrid Volzke worked as a full-time press photographer for the West Australian Newspaper for 9 years which took her far and wide. She now lives on a property beside Lake Towerrinning in Moodiarrup and is the mother to a scrumptious little 2 year old boy who will not let her out of his sight! Astrid’s photographic adventures have changed somewhat in the last 2 years as she has tried to balance the demands and joys of motherhood while fullfilling her artistic side at the same time. Therefore, Harry has accompanied Astrid on this particular photography project capturing images of her big beautiful backyard for Australian Bush in Abstract Exhibition.
Australian Bush In Abstract Exhibition will be on display upstairs at Little Creatures Brewery, 40 Mews Road Fremantle, until the 1st of October
