Teapot House

62 Mile Radius final_sized

Was it love at first teapot when Barlee and Robyn Jones drank from a double-spouted teapot covered in red hearts?

Well, since that day, the Jones’s have collected 5500 teapots and they have a story to go with every one of them. They have animal teapots, gold plated teapots, teapots about different song’s, fairytales, era’s, cultures. The mind boggles. Certainly a teapot for every occasion.

‘We’ve collected so many teapots and tea-sets we’ve had to move out of the house!” After reading this in a local tourist brochure I had to pay them a visit.

Arriving at Teapot House in Dinninup I knew straight away that this was going to be an experience to remember. It started with a green corrugated iron door sliding open. A friendly man greeting me with ‘Hello, my name is Barlee, no relation to oats or wheat’. And there began a tour of a most unusual and lovely home. Barlee and Robyn offered tea and homemade rocky road then walked and talked me though their home teapot after teapot.  In between teapots Barlee confided that he has had 17 heart attacks and has being pronounced dead 5 times. You would never know it, he is a man full of life, laughter, cheeky one-liners and stories of all shapes and sizes.

You can find Teapot House in Dinninup, 30 minutes from Lakeside Camping on the way to Boyup Brook. Barlee and Robyn Jones. Visit’s by appointment 97671245
